Cultivating Mental Health Through COVID-19

Updated: Jul 12, 2020

"Every adversity carries with it the seed of equal or greater benefit."  Napoleon Hill

Two weeks ago I caught myself walking through my local Chemist Warehouse searching for something. At first I wasn't sure what I was looking for. I saw others around me standing in front of empty shelves and I found myself being pulled to them. Hand sanitiser is something that I've not paid much attention to until now. In a moment of awareness I realised that I was looking for hand sanitiser.

For a brief second my consciousness moved above my body and I saw my zombie-like yet petrified expression. There was a part of me that was business as usual, the practical side. Yet there was a little girl inside who was overwhelmed and confused by the sudden change her world had taken.

Since that day I've moved into action mode, into what can I do mode, into how can I serve mode, all of which sits more comfortably with me than my overwhelmed and confused self.

So I guess my big question is, "how are you coping?"

We are travelling uncharted waters which none of  us have a blueprint to navigate through. My biggest concern is how can I support you at this time.

I'm offering a daily meditation practice on Instagram and Zoom on Monday to Friday. Anxiety and stress depletes our immune system making us more likely to contract this virus. This is the time to step up on your self-care, mental health and spiritual practice.

You can find the link to join both platforms below.

Due to the virus, I will not be offering an in-person workshop for the month of April.

My monthly workshops are a safe place for women to connect, be heard and seen, and a space for women to offer support to each other.

Some of you expressed your disappointment that face-to-face workshops are on hold indefinitely.

As a solution, I am offering an online weekly group therapy on Tuesday evenings. This group will meet on a casual drop-in basis and will accommodate up to 10 women. You can book and pay weekly.

I want this group to be accessible to most women so I've fixed the price at $29 per session, or you can pay for 4 sessions and receive a 15% discount. If you're interested, you can find more information below.

Finally, I was interviewed by Yamini Toohey for the GlobalWoman In Conversation Series. In this broadcast I shared tools for managing anxiety through this challenging time.

Check out the video below.

I hope you find this issue helpful and enjoyable!

Big hugs,

Faith xoxo
